How Build-A-Bear is Making Up for ‘Pay Your Age’ Fiasco
Things got beary intense yesterday at Build-a-Bear Workshops around the U.S.
Thursday, July 12th, was the first annual Build-a-Bear Pay Your Age promotions. Customers who showed up with their children would pay their child's age for their fluffy friend.
Obviously, people showed up in droves to Build-a-Bear Workshops, including the few we have here in the Hudson Valley. It was reported that wait times were anywhere between 3 and 5 hours.
By 5pm the Build-a-Bear in the Poughkeepsie Galleria had to close with many missing out on their opportunity to pay their age.
Build-a-Bear is looking to make it up to their customers who got stuck in the madness. According to USA Today, adults who signed up for the free Build-a-Bear Bonus Club can log onto their account and print out a $15 voucher that is good until August 31st, 2018.
Customers who were turned away should have received a $15 from the store. Build-a-Bear shared in a press release that they will hold a year long promotion called "Count Your Candles" for children 14 and under. During their birthday month they can "pay their age" with their Birthday Treat Bear.
