After going to college by Buffalo for years, I am a master of snow days.

The main key to surviving a snow day is being prepared for whatever the storm throws at you. Afterall, some parts of the Hudson Valley got up to 24 inches of snow. So make sure you have whatever supplies you'll need because you won't want to go to the store.

Obviously, you will need warm clothes to take on a major storm. Things like a jacket, hat, gloves, and boots. Make sure you have plenty of food and lots of water to drink. I also recommend another beverage, if you know what I mean.

Know what you can and cannot do in harsh weather like winter storm Quinn. If you aren't comfortable driving, don't do it. If your body can't handle being out in the weather, stay inside.
