Hudson Valley Road Closures Approved For HBO Series Production
More details are beginning to emerge about the upcoming HBO series set to film in the Hudson Valley. Route 209 in the Town of Ulster will need to be closed for 12 to 24 hour periods on select days in April, June, and August. The Daily Freeman reports the Town of Ulster Town Board approved the request to shut down the four-mile stretch of road for filming.
Producers for I Know This Much Is True starring Mark Ruffalo will host a casting call for Hudson Valley talent on February 23rd at IBM in Poughkeepsie and is expected to have an overall positive effect on the local economy. Residents also had until Friday to sign up for a boot camp style class that will be teaching skills necessary to work behind the scenes on the production.
The Freeman reports the dates selected are April 23rd, June 3rd and August 1st. Route 209 will be closed from Route 28 until Sawkill Road for up to 24 hours on these days. Representatives from the NY State Department of Transportation have suggested using Sawkill Road as a detour.
Ruffalo's other recent high profile work includes a recurring role as Dr. Bruce Banner aka the Incredible Hulk in The Avengers franchise.
