A man from a small Orange County village was killed in a crash on Long Island earlier this week.

According to Patch, a man from the Hudson Valley was killed in a car crash on the Long Island Expressway this week. On Tuesday, November 6 a man from Orange County was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

John Palmer, from Maybrook, was driving a freight truck westbound when it hit a 2006 Kia Sportage. The collision occurred by exit 60 in Lake Ronkonkoma. The freight truck then veered offroad and hit the Ronkonkoma Avenue overpass. Palmer was 26 years old.

The driver of the Kia Sportage remained at the scene of the crash and was uninjured. Both vehicles were impounded to check for safety.
