Is isn't something you're expecting to read? Are police really encouraging people to drink to excess? yes, but there is a catch.

Law enforcement in Kutztown. Pennsylvania are looking for volunteers to get intoxicated so officer can be properly trained on how to conduct standaized field sobriety tests for DWI suspects. WRIC reports that the police department will even provide the booze. Sounds pretty easy, right? There are a few qualifications though. According to the Kutztown Borough's Facebook page, participants must:

  • Be between ages 25 and 40
  • Be in good health
  • Have no history of drug or alcohol abuse.
  • Clean criminal history
  • Be willing to drink hard liquor to the point of inebriation
  • Have a designated person available to get you home and take care of you after the training
  • Sign a liability waiver

NBC says the search was first sent out over Facebook, and needless to say, the response was more than enthusiastic.

The training session is set for April 4, between 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.

As of January 17, the Kuztown Facebook post has over 1,300 shares.
