The state of California is currently battling major wildfires that have killed many and left others with no homes.

CBS News reports that the wildfires occurring in California have taken a total of 50 lives. An enormous amount of homes and property have also been lost, including the homes of some major celebrities, like Miley Cyrus, Gerard Butler, and Caitlyn Jenner.

There are 3 major fires occurring in California: Camp Fire in Butte County, Woosley Fire in Los Angeles County, Ventura County, and Hill Fire in Ventura County. The Hill Fire is the most under control, at 94% contained. The Woosley Fire is 47% contained and the Camp Fire is only 35% contained. Total, over 200,000 acres of land have been burned.

The Camp Fire was 201 square miles as of Tuesday, November 13, according to CBS News. That's 40.2 times the size of Poughkeepsie.
