A Winter Storm Warning is now in effect for Orange and Putnam counties from 6 a.m Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday. Five to seven inches of snow is predicted.

A Winter Storm Warning is now in effect for Ulster and Dutchess counties from 10 a.m. Tuesday until noon on Wednesday. Six to eight inches is predicted for Dutchess County and six to 10 for Ulster.

A Winter Storm Warning is now also in effect for Sullivan County for Tuesday morning until Wednesday morning with five to eight inches of snow in the forecast.

Weather experts issued a Winter Storm Watch for most of the area and believe the storm will impact travel during multiple rush hours.

The National Weather Service Issued a Winter Storm Watch for Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Greene counties from Monday morning until Wednesday afternoon.

Five to nine inches of snow with ice accumulations of one to two-tenths of an inch and wind gusts as high as 45 mph are forecast for Ulster, Columbia and Green counties.

Four to seven inches of snow and ice one-tenth to two-tenths is predicted for Orange and Sullivan counties.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Advisory for Putnam and Dutchess counties starting Tuesday morning and lasting until Wednesday morning. Four to nine inches of snow mixed with sleet is possible with wind speeds as high as 35 MPH.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

Snow should start falling in the local area Tuesday morning after 7 a.m. Snow should change to sleet in the afternoon and then freezing rain around the evening commute.
Hudson Valley Weather is predicting two to five inches of snow for the Mid and Upper Hudson Valley and three to seven inches of snow for the Catskills.
