I’m Allison Kay, your on-air hostess with the mostest….cats. I have a question for you: How many cats are too many cats? If you’re thinking more than three, then consider me the Hudson Valley’s youngest old crazy cat lady. As a native H.V. resident, I grew up surfing the local radio channels at home, in the car, and on the beach during summer breaks. I dreamt of my voice being broadcast from behind the mic over the radio waves and into the speakers of loyal listeners. I majored in Broadcasting at SUNY Oswego (go Lakers!) and got a night gig hosting at another station. “Just keep swimming” I told myself, and you’ll get to where you want to be. Dude, I swear there’s a point that I’m trying to make with these gnarly surfing references. The New Now 97.7 that you enjoy so much was formally Oldies 97.7, and was the channel that I listened to artists like the Beach Boys on while hanging out my dad and roller skating with my sister in our basement. While it was fun to jam out to tunes like “Surfing U.S.A.” and “Catch A Wave,” I now love listening to the industry's newest songs and staying up-to-date on current news and events. I traded my night shifts for Sunday day, and it’s a dream come true to bring you hit music variety and give you the 411 on what’s trending from the same 97.7 frequency that I listened to my whole life. My nights are now spent with family, friends, and of course my cat crew. Allison Kay: radio personality by day, kween of kitties by night!
