Registering to vote isn't as hard as it may seem.

If you're already registered to vote, great! If not, what are you waiting for? I'm a firm believer everyone should utilize their right to vote, no matter who they're voting for. If you're looking to register to vote for the upcoming elections, like primaries and the 2020 presidential election, here's exactly how to register to vote in New York State.

First things first, if you want to register to vote in New York State, only U.S. citizens 18 years or older are eligible to register, according to WKBW. In addition to that, you must also not be in prison or on parole for a felony conviction. You must not be declared mentally incompetent by a court, and you must not claim the right to vote in another place.

Check all those boxes off? Great, you're ready for the next step. You'll need your driver's license, permit, or non-driver ID, the current zip code that's on record with the DMV, and your social security number, according to WKBW. Once you have all that ready to go, you can register to vote here.

See you at the polls!
