Local Auto Dealership to Host Its Annual Pet Adoption Event
October is all about our furry friends, dogs. Raise your paws because it’s Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. October 22nd brings us another reason to celebrate our favorite canines with National #MakeADogsDay.
Subaru is holding their Share the Love event at Johnstons Subaru at 243 Dolson Ave. in Middletown. This annual adoption event will take place on Saturday, October 26th at 11 am.
Barking Back Animal Rescue of Montgomery has partnered with Subaru of Middletown to help find fur-ever homes for their rescue pups. Since 2012, Barking Bark Animal Rescue has placed dogs into loving homes. They interact with other rescue and foster associations across the US for the benefit and better lives for these pups.
Barking Back Animal Rescue takes pride in ensuring that each dog is given a loving foster home until they find their fur-ever home. To make all of this possible, this organization needs your help. They utilize volunteers and donations to continue their loving work.
Barking Back Animal Rescue asks for new and or gently used items.
The following items are needed:
- Paper towels
- Cleaning supplies
- Dog bowls
- Dog food
Their preferred products are
- 4Health from TSC
- Whole Hearted from Petco
If you can’t attend this annual pet adoption event, donations are always welcome. If you are unable to donate, shelters and rescues always need volunteers or fosters. They are usually at their capacity and would welcome extra hands to help out with daily chores. Luckily, volunteering doesn’t take any experience and there’s always an organization that could use help. Volunteers could help socialize, feed and care for the animals. Volunteering your time could make all the difference for animals in need of love and care. Somehow, someway everyone can help out.
Did you know, being an animal shelter volunteer is good for your physical, emotional and even mental health? (I can vouch for this). It is scientifically proven that spending time with animals helps blood pressure and lower stress levels. Walking dogs can benefit your physical health by staying active. Caring for pets and creating a bond with them can help you deal with anxiety, depression and stress.
Be sure to visit your local animal shelter/rescue to share the love during October, Adopt a Shelter Dog Month!
