More Jobs Added To The Hudson Valley
Plenty of jobs were added to the Hudson Valley and Catskill region in August 2019.
The Daily Freeman reports that nonfarm employment across the Hudson Valley and Catskill region was up when comparing August 2019 to August 2018. In the Catskill region, Sullivan County had major wealth. Een with the financially struggling Resorts World Catskills, Sullivan County grew its nonfarm employment by 13.9% from August 2018 to 2019. In 2018, Sullivan County had 30,900 nonfarm jobs, compared to the 35,200 nonfarm jobs in 2019.
According to the Daily Freeman, Ulster County also saw a 2.2% increase in its nonfarm jobs. From August 2019 to August 2018, the nonfarm jobs ros by 1,400, reaching a total of 63,900. The Dutchess-Putnam Metropolitan Division saw an increase of 1.4% of nonfarm jobs. This was an increase of 2,000 nonfarm jobs, bringing the total to 149,100. The Dutchess-Putnam Metropolitan Division combines data for both counties.
In the lower Hudson Valley, the Daily Freeman reports that the Orange-Rockland-Westchester Division saw an increase of .5% of nonfarm jobs. 3,800 nonfarm jobs were added between August 2018 and August 2019, bringing the total to 732300.
