Various school districts in the Hudson Valley are holding budget votes today.

As the school year comes to a close, multiple school districts are holding budget votes on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. The Daily Freman reports that schools across Dutchess and Ulster County are hoping to increase their budget. Kingston, Ellenville, Highland, New Paltz, Onteora, Red Hook, Rhinebeck, Rondout Valley, and Saugerties school districts are all holding budget votes on Tuesday.

According to the Daily Freeman, Kingston hopes to increase their spending plan by 3.3% from last year's budget. Ellenville is looking for a 1.95% budget increase from last year. New Paltz seeks a 3% spending increase from the previous year. Onteora is hoping for a 3.3% increase compared to last year's budget. Rhinebeck is looking for a 3.2% spending increase. Rondout Valley wants to increase its budget by 1.6%. Saugerties is seeking a 2.07% spending increase.

Surprisingly, Highland hopes to decrease their budget by 1.9% from last year, as reported by the Daily Freeman. Red Hook is also looking to decrease its budget by 1.1%.
