Following the announcement Forever 21 filed for bankruptcy, speculation has begun about what Hudson Valley locations will close.

On Monday, September 30, 2019, it was announced that Forever 21 filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. The fast-fashion retailer could close up to 178 locations nationwide. Within the Hudson Valley, they have locations in Poughkeepsie, Middletown, Nyack, and Harriman.

According to Patch, Forever 21 could close multiple Hudson Valley locations. Ones that were listed in court documents are Middletown, Central Valley, White Plains, and Yorktown Heights. It does not look like the Poughkeepsie location will close.

The initial plans for bankruptcy were reported on September 4, 2019. Forever 21 is one of the biggest American shopping mall tenants, according to our earlier report. Sales for the company had dropped by an estimated 20%-25%. Sales are estimated as they are not a public company and do not share financial records.
