How are you spending your last Sunday of September? Today is National Coffee Day, the perfect excuse to have another cup or two. It would be fun to surprise someone with a cup of their favorite hot or iced coffee.

For the majority, coffee is a part of the daily routine. It seems that coffee lovers can never get enough of their favorite drink. While enjoying your daily cup of Joe, have you ever wondered where coffee came from? The coffee bean itself dates back to Ethiopia while drinking coffee came about during the 15th century. By the 17th century, coffee became popular in Europe however; it wasn’t until the 18th century that coffee plants hit what is now the U.S.

Today, studies claim that there are about 2.25 BILLION CUPS of coffee that are enjoyed every day all over the world (No surprise). It’s truly amazing how coffee came about and how there are all different types of America’s favorite beverage. We enjoy coffee hot, iced, flavored, non-flavored, as a latte, cappuccino, espresso, macchiato, etc. Coffee can also be a liquid dessert, simply add a liquor and top with whipped cream (VOILA!)
